Alan Wake II Review
amazing
Alan Wake II is a superb survival horror sequel that makes the cult-classic original seem like little more than a rough first draft by comparison.

Summary
Monsters wear many faces. Alan Wake returns in this survival horror game following the writer who continues to face psychological horror beyond anything imagined in his books.
Alan Wake II News
Alan Wake II is a revolution in interactive storytelling! The sort of story that can only be told in a videogame, a fully realized vision as you can tell that it has been brewing for THIRTEEN long years. Sam Lake is a freaking visionary for delivering such a unique interactive storytelling experience in a sea of remakes and uninspired games nowadays!
First off, the visuals and lighting are absolutely INCREDIBLE—definitely one of the best-looking games this generation. The sound design is SPINE-TINGLING, keeping me on my toes with every step I take. My number one complaint in the first game was the clunky gameplay, and that is completely overhauled here! The controls and movement are BUTTERY smooth. All of that, with STUNNING world design and art direction, results in one of the most IMMERSIVE environments to explore. That made all the side activities and the cleverly well-thought-out puzzles so engaging, and I couldn't get enough!
When it comes to the story and characters, Saga is, from the get-go, one of the most badass protagonists! All the new and returning characters are so well written, and I finally actually care about Alan freaking Wake! The new world-altering mechanics are incredibly RIVETING, resulting in some of the most memorable gaming sequences ever!
The game takes the cool concepts introduced in the first game and turns it up to ELEVEN, delivering one of the trippiest and most mind-bending gaming experiences EVER. It has put Remedy up with the S-tier AAA devs, alongside Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, CDPR, and Rockstar. A masterpiece.

Alan Wake 2 is a graphical masterpiece. Things i have not seen done since Sega CD. This game blends gameplay graphics with live action videos in a way i have never seen. The story is brilliant and can not wait to see what Remedy will do with the upcoming sequel to Control. This game is a challenge but not as hard as the first Alan Wake game. I was hesitant to spend the $60 on a digital only game but it was well worth the money. 10 out of 10 for me and should be nominated got Game of the year.
This game is truly a masterpiece a culmination of everything remedy has ever made all beautifully blended together to create something truly unique
What a clever little gem of a game. Though (purposely) stuck in the past when it comes to freedom of exploration and linearity, Alan Wake 2 invites players to hang out in its moody and often surreal environments. Its immersive, despite not giving you much choice in how you explore or interact. Often channeling that classic Resident Evil setup, it has the look and feel of a David Lynch adaptation of a Stephen King novel… or whatever their Finnish counterparts may be. The game just oozes cool — and it’s genuinely creepy even when it’s not tossing jump scares at you. One of 2023’s must plays!
Honestly can't recommend it enough. Given time I would choose to replay constantly. Such love goes into the game and the possibilities are endless, you get a new experience in such small but beautiful ways every time with every choice.
After waiting 13 years for this sequel I was already a bit biased. But honestly this game lived up to the hype, the performance mode on PS5 was fantastic from day one with a few noticeable hiccups that were rectified quickly with patches.
The game leant much more into the horror side than the first game and some people may feel jump scares are cheap but I feel they were used effectively in this game and not just for cheap shock value.
The additions to the story from the first game and overall lore were outstanding. While I would recommend this game to anyone, you owe it to yourself to play Alan Wake remastered or the original and control too as you would get so much more from the story knowing these games. Although you could piece together the needed knowledge from in game lore items and still enjoy the experience
This is a very pretty game, but also an extremely boring game. I stopped playing shortly after beginning to play as Alan in NYC. Most of your time is spent walking around and getting lost. The puzzles with the lights are confusing and not fun at all. The combat (shining your flashlight at the same shadow man over and over and shooting if they are hostile) is terrible. I may have just came from playing RE4 remake but this is simply not fun at all. At first, the beautiful graphics lure you in, but after a while you crave a more worthwhile experience. I wish I could go back to playing Saga's story, as the content was more interesting (by far), but I'm stuck in the subway with Alan and not having a good time.
Alan Wake II is definitely my biggest surprise of the year! And don’t get me wrong, I expected that this game would be amazing and that would probably overcome all my expectations, but not for a split second I was expecting what this experience delivered. This is one of the best games I’ve ever played in my entire life, there is so much to get impressed by here, the amazing visuals, the great soundtrack, the mind blowing gameplay mechanics and most importantly the narrative, and what a narrative, always one (or more) step(s) ahead of the player, bringing new sensations and emotions at each chapter, a true narrative-driven masterpiece, beautifully acted and superbly scripted, overall easy to get obsessed with this game. Truly a experience I wont forget or stop thinking about anytime soon. My personal TGA GAME OF THE YEAR 2023.

Well...what can I say. I played the first Alan Wake last year. I really liked thr story but had many cons against some mechanics of the game like combat, weapon customization and repetitive action. They took all of that and improved for this one. The story was already good now is even better. Between Alan Wake 1 and AW2 I played Control+DLCs and it made so much sense. The story is crazier, bigger and better like I said. Characters are relatable and easy to like. Did I mention that the story is better? The gameplay changed a lot. Less enemies, less combat, more weapons and customization for weapons and characters. It's nearly perfect in every sense. I'm eager to play it again and it'll be the first game I play 2 times in a row. Just buy it and play it. Try to go through AW1 and Control+DLCs first to get a more immersive experience. Looking forward to an Alan Wake 3 already

Impecável, insanamente polido e um trabalho de quem domina sua arte. Claramente, o ponto mais alto da Remedy Games até agora. Uma pena que acaba
Alan Wake 2 is a unique horror game in the most positive ways. It breaks away from the monotony of the titles of this category of games by challenging what the player expects. Despite the weakness of the design of some stages in the middle part of the story, its creativity in employing various settings to tell a confusing story will haunt your imagination even several hours after you finish it.
Really enjoyed this game and the overall universe.
Best survival horror game I’ve ever played. Incredible story with great gameplay. Truly scary!

A truly awesome experience! Having not played the original Alan Wake I was worried I’d be out of my depth with the story, do not fear it’s covers everything for you.
The graphics are some of the best I’ve ever seen and the environments are stunning. Everything feels fresh and fun from the combat mechanics to the way you interact with the environment.
This is a must play for anyone with a PS5. The only reason for a 9 is cause I had few framerate drops which will no doubt be patched and occasionally the combat felt a bit janky. But these will be updated I’m sure. An incredible game to experience!
Best game of 2023, argue with the wall.
Either play Alan Wake 1, or watch the recaps on YouTube. And definitely watch videos on the remedy connected universe/control or play control
