Footage from Captain America: Brave New World was shown to those in attendance at Disney's CinemaCon 2024 presentation and it sees Harrison Ford's Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross asking Anthony Mackie's Captain America to rebuild the Avengers.
The footage began at the White House in Washington, D.C. with Ford's President Thunderbolt Ross speaking with staff while having a lollipop because he can't smoke cigars anymore. He also has a new look because he had to "lose the mustache or lose the election."
As previously mentioned, one of the most important parts of this footage was President Ross wanting Sam Wilson to rebuild the Avengers after the events of Endgame. He then talked about the discovery of the Millennium that was stolen from a Japanese mining site, but fortunately Cap and Joaquín Torres got it back.
Isaiah Bradley and another agent then hear a high pitch and it triggers them, and they start opening fire. Chaos ensues; even Ross throws a punch. As Sam notes, the "inner circle has been compromised."
Captain America: Brave New World is set to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025, and we still don't know too much about the film. We do know, however, that it will explore "what makes somebody Captain America" and dive into Wilson's underdog status as the new Cap.
Furthermore, the movie will see Liv Tyler reprising the role as Betty Ross after not appearing as her since 2008's The Incredible Hulk. It will also feature a new Hulk villain as Tim Blake Nelson will be reprising his role of Samuel Sterns/The Leader.
