Palworld Raid Bosses, Slabs, and How to Summon
Launched as part of Palworld's v0.2.0.6 update, there's a new Raid Boss called Bellanoir that players can summon, but accessing this powerful new Pal requires a bit of legwork. You'll have to unlock the recipe for and build a Summoning Altar, but you'll also need to do the same for a Bellanoir Slab. Here's how to complete each step in the process.
How to Unlock the Summoning Altar Recipe
The Summoning Altar is a new recipe you can unlock in Palworld on the Technology tab at Level 33. It costs 3 Ancient Technology Points to unlock and appears on the far-right in the purple Ancient Technology column.
How to Construct a Summoning Altar
The recipe for a Summoning Altar is pretty simple, so it should be easy for just about anybody to craft:
- 100 Stone
- 20 Paldium Fragments
Both of these materials should be relatively easy to farm, even near the game's starting area. However, each Summoning Altar can only be used once. After you've summoned a raid boss, it will be destroyed. So if you want to fight the boss multiple times, you'll have to stockpile lots of Stone and Paldium Fragments.
The Summoning Altar essentially functions like a mystical circle of stones that, when used in conjunction with magical slabs, allow you to summon powerful Pals. While Bellanoir is the first, it's all but certain that we'll see more Pals summoned in this fashion in the future.
In order to summon Bellanoir, you'll have to build a Bellanoir Slab. The ensuing ritual consumes both the Altar and the Slab.
How to Construct a Bellanoir Slab
To craft a Bellanoir Slab, you'll first need a Production Assembly Line II (100 Refined Ingots, 10 Circuit Boards, 30 Nails), which can be unlocked at Player Level 42 with 3 Technology Points. Then, once you collect at least one Bellanoir Slab Fragment, you'll have access to the recipe for a Bellanoir Slab. Farming for the Fragments, however, is going to take the longest amount of time in this process.
Where to Find Bellanoir Slab Fragments
Technically, Bellanoir Slab Fragments can drop from any chest in the game, but drop rates are much higher in rarer chests. Some players have reported that Bellanoir Slab Fragments have a chance to drop in Wildlife Sanctuary chests, but the most efficient farming method is in running dungeons and opening the chests at the end.
To help with that, use IGN's interactive map and sort by Dungeons. You can essentially move in circles around a single island, breezing through each Dungeon. Keep in mind that once you complete a Dungeon, it will take some time before it fully resets.
Once inside a Dungeon, hop on a mount and dash through to the end of the dungeon to open the chests. That will ensure you maximize the number of Slab Fragments claimed in the shortest time.
Slab Fragments come in two variants: common Bellanoir Slab Fragments and uncommon Bellanoir Libero's Slab Fragments. Higher-level Dungeons are more likely to yield the Libero variant.
In either case, you need four Fragments to craft a full Slab. The Bellanoir Slab summons a Bellanoir at Level 30, and the Bellanoir Libero's Slab summons a Bellanoir Libero at Level 50.
