Stellar Blade Demo Walkthrough
This Stellar Blade demo walkthrough will guide you through the first available hour of the game which covers both boss fights. Along the way, we will show you all the documents, materials, and supply boxes you can gather throughout the main Eidos 7th Silent Street level. This will also go into detail on how to defeat the extra boss fight challenge you can tackle after completing the main demo.
Combat Tips for Stellar Blade Demo
This Bayonetta and Nier Automata game hybrid has a few gameplay mechanics that are a bit tricky to get used to right away. First and foremost, the action inputs do not react as fast as its counterpart inspirations. When attempting your main combos such as Onslaught or Incursion, don't try to rapidly press the buttons to execute the combo chain. Instead, you will find more success by executing the inputs in a steadier and more controlled timing. However, this is not as slow as, perhaps, a Dark Souls game, so don't take more than a second to follow up with the next input, or else, the combo won't be executed.
With that being said, the best combat approach is to analyze enemy patterns and adjust your timing.
In regards to the enemies' attack cues, there are four colored coded cues you must watch out for:
- Red
- Yellow
- Blue
- Purple
The purple attack cue is only relevant during the extra boss challenge after completing the main demo section.
The red cue indicates the enemy is about to go on a frenzy. Therefore, it is best to parry/block these fast attacks.
The yellow cue indicates the following enemy attack can't be guarded nor parried, therefore it is best to start timing your perfect dodge, or move away as far as you can before it hits you with it.
The blue cue indicates you will need to use the skill Blink, as soon as your blade starts glowing blue. You need to tilt forward and press circle at the same time when the latter starts to show. The enemy glowing blue is almost as a warning to be prepared for the next cue (which is your blade) to show up. If you have successfully executed this, you will be standing behind the enemy, giving you an opportunity to attack it off-guard.
The purple cue indicates the enemy is about to execute a fatal attack. As soon as it shows up, tilt back and press circle at the same time to dodge the attack.
Demo Walkthrough
Before you start the game, make sure to peruse through the Settings menu to make a slight adjustments. Go to the Gameplay sections in the Settings menu and turn on the Auto Loot Items. This will save you from having to spam the R2 button around the open field in hopes you haven't missed picking up any valuable loot.
Right below it, you can also play around with Eve's ponytail length! This change will reflect to both in-game cutscenes and during regular gameplay.
Star Descent
As soon as you crash land on Earth, Eve will be saved by Tachy. Start following her throughout this portion of the game that acts as a tutorial. Shortly after starting, you will confront a few Thornheads. Clear them out to continue.
Continue to follow Tachy after clearing out the Thornheads and watch a small cutscene that will then force you to jump over the fallen tower.
You will then be introduced to a new enemy type and new battle mechanics. These enemies are known as the Beholders and they mostly attack with their blade-like right arm. Take the chance to get comfortable with the parrying/blocking mechanics. This section will also introduce you to the Beta Skills, which are special attacks you can execute by holding L1 and an action button and recharges every time you successfully parry or block.
You will eventually come across a big boss fight with an enemy known as the Brute. This is the perfect time to practice your parrying skills as this enemy mostly uses slow attacks against you. Don't worry if you can't defeat him, in fact it is not necessary.
If you lose the fight, there is a slight follow-up cutscene variation, where Tachy will come to the rescue and the two of you will eventually tag team to deliver a flashy execution. After this boss fight, the Star Descent portion will be done, and enjoy some cutscenes.
Eidos 7 Silent Street
Next up is Silent Street, where you will spend the majority of the demo. There's a nearby phone booth for fast travel,, but you can't do anything with it yet, since there are no other locations we have explored at the moment. Destroy the nearby boxes you come across to earn some money. Walk straight towards the end of the road, until you come face to face with a trio of Creeper enemies.
Once you deal with the Creepers, head to the open storage room as indicated by the red arrow on the image above.
Investigate the body and you will get a passcode that will unlock the fence door right outside.
Enter the passcode to continue your journey.
As you continue down the road, you will come across more Creepers.
Once you deal with the Creepers, before you continue heading straight, turn to your left to find a Legion Camp.
Legion camps are essentially small save points where you can use the nearby machines to either upgrade your Skill Tree with SP or purchase items and potions. This is also where you can rest to restore your health and potion tabs. However, resting in the camps will also respawn enemies.
Keep in mind activating these save points will require x1 Vitcoin. In the demo, you will come across with more than enough Vitcoins to activate the Legion camps you will encounter throughout this hour long trial.
You can also change the background song that is currently playing!
Once well, rested you will come across a new enemy type variation; the Cricket Slasher. The Cricket Slasher is very similar to the Beholders you came across earlier in the game.
Before you head on straight, enter the open storage room to your left, the one indicated on the image above.
You will find what is called a Legion Supply Box, which essentially contains a variety of useful items and material.
You will obtain the following items:
- Highly Concentrated Potion x1
- Lingering Potion x2
- Nano Element x9
- Advanced Nano Element x3
Get back on track and jump towards the bars to swing across them and get to the other side of the broken tracks.
Before continuing forward, head towards the left building, where the tracks slightly deviate towards it. This is optional, however heading towards the left, crumbling building will lead you to a Legion Supply Box.
After jumping on it, go straight ahead and climb up another building connected to the one you just jumped on.
Once you climb the building, on a small corner, you will find the Legion Supply Box mentioned earlier.
You will obtain the following items:
- Nano Element x8
- Advanced Nano Element x2
- Polymer Material x15
- Advanced Polymer Material x7
- Extreme Polymer Material x3
Go back to the main track and go follow the road, eventually the game will prompt you to strike an enemy from above.
Strike it and take care of the two Cricket Slashers including the one approaching you. Once you take care of them, continue down the road from where the second Cricket Slasher was walking.
Here you will encounter a Hydra which is essentially a flying starfish. This one is a bit different from the other enemies you have encountered. You will need to use the Scanner (touch pad button) to be able to see where the enemy is, since it frequently disappears.
The Hydra will mostly use thrust attacks where it will wind up a bit before fast spiraling towards you. Dodge away from these attacks and use Rush attacks to quickly get a hold of it while it's winding down from it's previous attack.
Once you defeat it, open the nearby Legion Supply Box.
You will obtain the following items:
- Nano Element x8
- Advanced Nano Element x5
- Combo Attack Enhancement Gear
- Omnibolt
Go back to your main route and before continuing straight, head over to the set of climbing platforms, as indicated on the image above. There is a supply box ready to be opened at the top.
Open the Legion Supply Box located once you reach the top.
You will obtain the following items:
- Nano Element x17
- Advanced Polymer Material x3
- SP Initializer
Head back down and don't worry about the stuff on the other side of the fence, you will reach that later on as it is part of your main route.
Destroy the hood of the yellow car and investigate the glowing object.
You will pick up a Fusion Cell, which will be needed later down the road to open a gate.
Head to the Bar 99 building, but be careful as you enter.
There is a Cricket Slasher hiding behind the left side of the wall waiting to get the jump on you. Parry it as soon as you see it, because it will attack you immediately.
Once you deal with the Cricket Slasher, you will confront another Hydra.
Once you defeat it, pick up the nearby Vitcoin which is a glowing green orb located on a corner across the hanging, destroyed bus. After picking it up, head to the bus, where there will be a lifeless body and a Crate.
Unfortunately, there is no available passcode key for this crate in this demo, so it will most likely be hidden in later areas of the full game. Inspecting the nearby body, gives you nothing either.
Head back to the main road and you will be confronted by more Creepers and a Head Creeper, which is slightly bigger than the others. Use the nearby drums to light them up, but be careful, since you can also take damage from the explosion.
A little bit further down the road, you will be confronted by a new enemy type; a Head Guardian. These ones will introduce you the yellow attack cues, which are attacks that can't be blocked. Thankfully, there are also nearby drums to light up to dispatch of it faster.
Once you dispatch of it, make your way to the alleyway nearby, as indicated by the red arrow on the image above.
In this alleyway, you will come across some Creepers and a Head Guardian. Dispatch of them, in order to retrieve the Beta Core from the body slouched against the pole.
Head to the building where the Любовь и мир sign stands out. Before jumping on the bars in front of you, turn to your left.
Head to the set of climbable platforms and keep on climbing until you reach the very top of the building.
At the very top of the building, there is a Legion Supply Box.
You will obtain the following items:
- Advanced Polymer Material x4
- 155 G
- 148 G
Instead of going back down the way you came before, you can take a shortcut by going straight ahead from where the supply box is and jump on the bars below to reach the other building ahead.
Follow the narrow road alongside building and investigate body to get not only the The Lost Words of the Hopeless document, but also the passcode Boakor. You will need this passcode later on to open a crate in a pharmacy.
Swing across some bars and climb to the edge of the building, where you will need to jump down the water.
Before you head to the main ladder, where you will need to push a wooden board nearby to jump onto the ladder, head to the other ladder, as indicated on the image above.
Eventually, at the top of the building, you will come across a body containing Louis's Testimony document and nearby XP you can collect. You can now head back down to the water.
Yet again, before you head to the other set of ladders, dive down, underneath the fenced area, where there will be a Legion Supply Box.
Now you can head again to the main path by pushing one of the floating boards towards the ladder.
Use a Vitcoin to activate the nearby camp and rest.
Once you are well-rested and restocked, head down towards the ladder just upfront.
Head towards the fountain where you will find a new enemy type with a shield. Be careful with this one, because it will try to grab you many times. You can either stun it with some grenades, or perfect time some dodges so you can get behind it's back and attack it.
Heading to your right of the fountain will lead you to the pharmacy. There is a Head Guardian waiting up ahead. Fortunately there is a drum just right next to it. Hit the drum and get away quickly so that you can severely damage it from the get go.
Up ahead inside the pharmacy, there is yet again another enemy waiting to get the jump on you. Same as before, parry/block it as soon as you see it and take him on.
Yet, again there is another soldier's body you need to investigate and this time it will give you the Lament of Despair document. Use the passcode you found earlier from a soldier's body on the supply box here. Collect the items and head back to the entrance with the Boo sign on top.
Use the Fusion Cell you found earlier on the hood of a yellow car to enter the building.
Interact with the piano for a fun little dialogue between Adam and Eve.
Turn to your left and you will again be confronted with an enemy like the one you encountered near the fountain, which means the same tactics will work on this enemy as well.
Once you defeat the enemy, pick up a nearby Body Core and interact with a red book from the bookshelf to receive a document.
Head to the second floor of the parking lot and there will be a larger Legion Camp where you will have more machines to interact with. One will be the Repair Console where you can apply Power enhancements by getting Weapon Cores and other adjustments which are not available to do in the demo, such as increase your gear socket.
Use this time to buy potions and grenades, because there is nothing much else to do in the parking lot, besides going up to confront a boss fight.
Abaddon Boss Fight
Once you are ready, head upstairs to confront Abaddon. Make sure to have at least Blink as one of your skills, which you will need to it dodge its blue highlighted attacks.
Watch out for some of his lightning, which is considered a yellow cue attack. The spot where the lightning will land, is marked briefly before it strikes, so be vigilant of the floor during this time.
Blink will be useful in certain parts to be able to attack him from behind.
Don't forget to use your Beta skills as soon as they are charged. They can be helpful to get out of a pinch as you can sometimes use them to interrupt its attacks and push him back.
Don't forget to press that L1 button after you finish him off!
Stalker Extra Boss Challenge
After you have completed the main demo, an extra boss challenge will be available for you to take on. This one is a bit tougher than the last enemy encounter, however, you will have even more skills, weapons and gear to experiment with this time around.
The Stalker will be much more aggressive, and you will need to be of much quicker feet, he has two main yellow attacks. In one, he will charge at you straight on. This one will test your perfect dodging. However, the distance he takes to wind up his bulldozing attack is significant enough for you to move out of the way before it is too late. The other yellow attack will have him throw debris at you.
When the blue light flashes, wait till it flashes on your sword to execute the Blink dodge.
For this one, you will want to tilt back and press circle at the same time when you see the purple light.
Use your Beta skills as soon as they are charged, fortunately, this time around the skills recharge much faster and there are more skills to choose from and chain together! You also have a plethora of grenades if you want to stun him for a brief moment.
This time around you will also have a gun! Press and hold the L2 button to take it out and press the R2 button to continuously shoot at him. It doesn't do much damage, but it does help to save you in a pinch.
Once you almost finish, there will be quick command prompts to deal heavy damage to him and finish him off.
And that is it! The creature will drop some items, but you can't pick them up before the demo ends.
