TopSpin 2K25 News
Best Tennis game in close to a decade, but the character models are horrible
This is without a shadow of a doubt the best tennis simulation to have been released on any console or PC to date. It is near perfect, and it is way more fun than it should be and exactly the next step topspin should be taking. I used to love Topspin 4 and was flooded with memories once I picked this game up. They took all the perfect pieces from the previous games of the series without reinventing the wheel. If it ain't broke, don't fix it and that motto has definitely worked in their favor here. My only major complaint is the lack of content. There is a couple online modes, offline, and career which all are fleshed out quite well, however, it simply needs more things to do i.e. minigames, etc. With that being said, the great core mechanics behind the gameplay more than make up for the lack of content. I have never been an advocate for battle pass marketing styles, but given they announced there would be more players coming down the road, this decision does not overly upset me. Furthermore, the impressive number of stadiums are worthy of praise, the animations and fluidity of gameplay are top class, and the overall package is well put together. Being a PGA 2k23 fan, this game is very directly related to that game in many ways. The VC system which I am not excited about, but the IGN reviewer gets his ******* in a knot and cries too much about as it is a pretty insignificant implementation, the menu style, presentation style, character models - it is a port of pga2k23 being reskinned with tennis. I don't know how to explain it any more clearly. I was unaware that this game was even being made, let alone releasing a week after I discovered it, but man it couldn't have been a more welcome surprise. Now since I have convinced you to buy this gem of a game, pick your court - clay, grass, or HARD - add me on xbox @ Itchyjoey854107 and be prepared to immediately delete the game after I am finished with you. And you all said, "Thank you daddy!" You are welcome my children.
